The Sikhs I get, they do a lot of good work. Their hair helmet is probably better than the $6.00 Kmart lids that get Aust approval.

Suits me too, my imaginary daughter worships fruit and MUST wear the correct headdress at all times or risk getting kicked out of the froot loop society of uncommon sense.
Plus she finds it so much easier to wear this instead of a helmet.

Remember PB, it's ok to discriminate in favour of minorities, you just can't discriminate against them.

I'm keen to see a Nun having a go as well!
My only concern is that if they have an accident then because they are not wearing approved safty equipment then they should NOT have any free medical etc.  I pay a chitload of my rego for TAC charges and would be disappointed if unprotcted riders started absorbing it.  Its not even a religious discussion...its a safety equipment one

I don't see why a head scarf stops you donning a lid, maybe there is a market for a wobble head bandage helmet, that way they can comply with the law, not use their religion as an excuse AGAIN for not fitting into Australian social norms. Is it now descrimination for everyone else that they have to comply ?

Its simply a numbers game the wearing of helmets, your chances of survival are greater with one than without one. Perhaps the question should be.....would you pay a extra premium for added insurance to cover you if you elected to not wear a lid....

The same rationale could be used against motorcycles vs. cars. Let those who ride decide.
