Looks like you did a good job there Scouser.
Guess the finish depends in part as to why you put a sissy bar on your bike in the first place.
If you put it there to stop your missus suddenly sticking her ankles under your armpits when you accelerate hard then chrome seems a waste of time, maybe something more comfy for her backbone.

Looks like it is a permanent fixture though?.
Not easily detachable. Quick release etc?.
Carting stuff can be a real pita.
Sissy bar will work ok but it is a bit of a wheelchair inducing item if it is there all the time, not just for touring.

No way man!  Sissy bars rock!  That one looks good - could be a LOT taller and have some decoration in the middle (but not crossed spanners as they are passe).  With the chrome they looks best but make sure you get top notch chrome done as some have issues with it peeling due to the extreme vibration etc.
I have carried a hay bale on the back of the sporty strapped to the sissy bar....

Looking at that brought back a memory ,, When i was at high school  first year , my mates big brother used to pull up and pick his girlfreind up , we were 13  i think ,, the chick he used to pick up  was without doubt the 10 out of 10  , that EVERYONE in school drooled over  she was about 16 ,, my mates brother , well he was the real cool dude of the area  ,,  Long blonde hair surfie looks , used to wear   all leather gear ,   his bike was  a 250 something with one of them sissy bars on  and a foxtail hanging off it , he'd left school was about 17 then ,,, and too top it of this dude was also lead guitarist and singer in a few local bands , , Fook he was the Fonzie of our area LOL ,,

Anyway   fast forward  like 30 years , which was 20 years ago ,  and i'm walking around the local shopping centre , and see this little old lady shuffling towards me , has it gets closer i see  a 6 o clock shadow , and relize its a  fella dressed has a woman , and a fooking ugly one at that ,, seen my old school mate , and said to him , was that your brother  running around the shopping centres , impersonating an old scruffy bag lady ,,, he said ,  We don't talk abourt that , others have told me theve seen him , and he does look like an ugly bloke dressed in  a bag ladys clothes ,, sort of felt  sorry for him
