His form has been ordinary and he ain’t fit enough to do the job he wanted and was hired for.

The rest of us in real life get occasionally told we need to do better and get the support (sometimes) to do that. Why is he any different?

Because he is a spoon fed angry at the world indigenous kid who thinks the world owes him.

Absolutely the kid has talent, he lacks passion and is a confidence player. You watch if his first few touches of the ball are good hes away, start with an error or good hit against him its over. Blake Ferguson is the same, he makes some silly errors at crucial times

So seems the football stoppage that the NRL did not want to happen has shown a few "errors" in the accountancy...They have not put in the $5 mil per season for the last 3 seasons as well as the $6mil club hardship payment so $21mil is missing from the tin. Now they have been found out they are scrambling to say that they have till the end of 2022 to refill that tin at the time the game comes up for re negotiating the TV rights. Now if they couldnt fill it with just $7mil a season how can you have confidence that they can find $21mil at the end. Sadly this is the sort of mismanaged debacle that goes on at club level and we read the dramas about that every season.

Not including player payments and club grants, the NRL has reportedly been spending $181 million on operational costs annually, which equates to approximately $500,000 every day.

    snipped this from the newspapers....

Complete mismanagement with more focus off the field rather than on.
I’d have to say, any organisation that hires Peter Beattie tends to go bang a year or so after he leaves. Happens every time.

In the good old days the boys did not play for money just for fun.
Wonder if it will have to go back to that?.

Oh deary me...now those "best minds in the NRL" have kinda scratched together a pretty far fetched plan that might see the comp restart in the end of next month well in order for the NRL to be paid a very important part of the puzzle, infact THE most important part, the rights holder and exclusive owner of TV filming have not been invited to any discussion or consultation at all. Channel 9 have indicated that they have re allocated crews and equipment for other projects as they deem that playing in empty stadiums is unable to generate advertising $ and is therefore commercially nonviable.
So a further case of poor management and incompetence on the NRL behalf. My $2 says Todd Greenberg is goooooone..

You would've thought they would check to see if the dudes with the cameras were good with the plan aye.

Incompetence from the NRL administration is nothing new unfortunately. But in this instance, what else would Channel 9 do? Not like there is something else for their camera crews and commentators to do. I think, due to lack of tv competition, if the NRL got back on then they’d be good advertising $$ to be made.
Saying that, this ‘Project Apollo’ garbage has already gotten old. No wonder the NRL has no $$ - every time you turn around there is another former player and/or failed pollie with a job. And don’t get me started on setting the comp up in the most heavily virus infected part of Australia- Sydney! Ffs.

how does crowd less games make TV advertising less profitable?

the people that stay home and watch the game still will, the 40,000 that would go to a game will have to now sit through the adds on the telly, don't that make TV adds potentially more profitable

I would have thought so but 9 are saying that the deal with advertisers at the game had a opt out clause should the game be cancelled or delayed to a different to advertised ground. Now with reduced earnings for most businesses they are withdrawing their sponsorships. I see that contrary to all advice the NRL has stated they will restart in a few weeks...going to be interesting
