I’m a Softail Standard fanatic.  Love the earlier Standards,  especially love the classic lines dating back to 1984 and that iconic rear fender.
However, This new 2020 looks like a Street Bob to me.  It looks Japanese actually.

Maybe Im just not keeping with the times

Street Bob with more chrome. I like the style but not a fan of the tiny fuel tank.

What price do they have on it? must be reasonably cheap, I don't know why they use those tiny 13 litre tanks on their bikes for (just looks?)

I like it. This would be my commuter bike instead of the street 500.

God no... Stick with the 500 or a 883/1200 as they are nice and light and brake well...  Last thing you need for commuting is a heavy wallowing bigblock Harley, especially a softail with their appalling handling.

Horrid looking thing. The twin cam Softail Standards and Customs were a Softail version of the Dyna Wide Glide. The new rake is 2 degrees less, the forks are shorter, the front wheel was 21”, the old bike was about 100mm longer, not much but the old bike had a real chopper style presence.
I agree with Ross, looks like a street bob with more chrome which probably means it’s Harley’s replacement for the Sportster.

NOOOOOOOO.... Wash your mouth out!  Nothing can replace the mighty Sportster (does this mean the new Softail is an 883?)

LOL, ain't knocking Sporties tussuck but I'm thinking the new Softail Custom might get more old Sportster buyers than this thing

Sportster has been essentially unchanged for a long time and the design is becoming dated and probably due for an update
Squeezed from above by the Softail Standard. Squeezed from below by the Street 500 and the forthcoming new models. It may be that HD are planning to drop the Sportster at some point. They've already reduced the number of permutations that they sell here.

Geee.... thats fugly.  Looks like an Indian.
It can only mean that classic Sporty values are goign to go upwards!  I might buy a 1200RR or the like just in case.

Went into a Harley dealer today not one model looked any good that would make me want to buy one the fat boy looks like someone has painted with silver frost the rest of the models there is too much black the breakout is the standout but the tank should have been an original tank with speedo on the tank

Personally I like a bit of bling but it seems silver or bronze frost is the new chrome.
I think the EU banned hexavalent chromium in 2017, not sure about the States.
It's gonna make life hard for car/bike restorers in the future.

It’s a street bob with no fork gaiters and chrome instead of black.
    $1,000 cheaper too.
Definetly not a softail standard. Parts bin special.
    Looks ok though.

when i first saw the picture I thought it was a Virago 750

Interesting given that the Virago was designed to imitate a Harley Davidson.
    So the circle closes.
