What is this from?

    Whatever it is I reckon the answer is in that elaborate pattern.  What looks like that?

    I have been plastering for 100 years and never see anything like it

    OK all, It is a zuckerhuthalter, it holds a flaming, rum soaked sugar loaf for a Feuerzangenbowle.
    A traditional German alcoholic drink for which a rum-soaked sugarloaf is set on fire and drips into mulled wine. It is often part of a Christmas or New Year's Eve tradition. The name translates literally as fire-tongs punch.
    Here is a picture of one in use

    Serious one What is this from?
    My parents gave some old stuff to hand down to my son this was ever poplar about 50 years ago and made from glass
