I use a HJC flip helmet here in Thailand, great helmet, cost about $275 aud here in Thailand..................keep in mind they have different size cheek liners, made all the difference when i swapped to a smaller size cheek liner, they are removable........................also my Sena bluetooth fits inside the internal pockets built in, also has a drop down tinted visor which I rarely use, I ride with sunglasses.

The benefits are in the hot weather and slow riding or at traffic lights I flip it up, get into serious riding and its a fullface..............I tried the Shark flips overhere and couldnt get a comfortable fit, the 2xl HJC fits my bowling ball shaped head perfectly.

Another thing I now use all the time is a balaclava, can put the mouth cover under my chin, I cant believe how much cooler it is and stops your head sweating inside the helmet, never ride with out one now.

Yes you have my trouble getting a helmet to fit. A few times I have been to bike shops looking for helmets I tell them I take a xl up to a xxl and they laugh at me saying no way and then they give me a large helmet to try, guess what the large doesn't go close I can't get it on or if I do squeeze it on the chin guard is sitting on my nose. I have to try a few different brands but unfortunately  money will be an option I  haven't got a lot to spare running a household on a single income.

No dust bin here even though I work at a landfill site lol. I use a open face with a pull down shield but now would like to try a flip up full face, better protection from the elements and better crash protection but just got to find one in my price range that fits properly.

i am using a nolan n100-5 flip front, not cheap /not to pricy. it's comfortable  [ for me ] and doesnt suffer from passing traffic buffet like my flip bell did and is a lot quieter wind wise than the bell as well. it has the ability to lock the chin piece up so you can ride in that position [ cant remember the code that makes it legal for that ,but its there.] it has an internal tint visor and good venting for warm days and comes with pin lock too.the chin strap is a ratchet type, which is good to use.very happy with this one.

Understand your medical issue Choco, hope you find a helmet to suit.
I have a Shark Evoline 3 modular flip-up chinbar type. I originally thought that it would be great to have a 2 in 1 (full-face to open-face). Thought in traffic I would flip chinbar back to cool down but all I really do is just flip only the visor up to get more air.
Sure helmet all functions as advertised but I find after riding with the full-face option on the Shark if I was to pull it open to open-face I just feel too exposed (a nurse friend of mine tells me of injuries to open-face riders).
Of course, each to their own.

I have just started to wear a shark evo one modular. Have rocked an open face for years & with the modular can close up when it's bitterly cold or raining (yes I know I am soft!). I have a round oval head shape & the Sharks fit me great ( I have a Heritage, RSJ & the Evo One). I also only paid $199 because they had a special on at Sydney City Motorcycles a few months back. Hope this helps.
