Go dealer Steamer. A good chance to touch base, build on your relationship with them. Not that "much" of a difference in price.

Go to Marshall batteries and check out SSB Dry Cell HVT-4. 425CCA, it also has brass terminals. I paid $190 earlier this year but may have been lucky.
I see there are doubters out there about these batteries however I also bought an HD one at more or less the same time. SSB shits all over it.

2 threads talking about the same battery at the same time.
Wonder why my SSB is a HVT-4 and others are saying HVT-1?

The HVT-4 is 100mm wide, where as the  HVT-1 is on about 86mm.  My fxst battery is same dimensions as the HVT-1

Thanks for clearing that up Steamer.
I guess it makes sense, the HVT-4 was for a Shovelhead.
Starting to think it may be the hot weather that roots batteries, which is strange because I have heard people say do not put a battery on a concrete slab for any length of time because the cold will not do it any favours.

Yeh FC, My Dad always told me, not to put a battery on direct concrete. Try using an old mudflap, or rubber mat.

Just ordered a SSB battery, RTX20L-BS,  $132.95 ( Free shipping at the moment)  including freight Insurance.

From Batteries Direct, at Peakhurst Nsw., they are same dimensions as HVT-1.  and are 400cca.

So will see how we go.  But will be putting on charge with my C-Tek charger, to bring to completely fully charged.  Which is what I am doing with my Car battery over night tonight.

My ‘05 (built 12/04) Sporty original Milwaukee battery only lasted 14.5 years.
I bought a Deka AGM (made in USA) from Every Battery in Ringwood. No regrets.

I bought a deka it's been great it's lasted longer then any other battery I've ever had. When I think about it's probably because they ordered it in and it hadn't been sitting on the shelf for a few years prior.

    I agree.

The guy at Every Battery told me the new stock just arrived at the time.
