Softail vs Fatboy

    Hi All,
    About to buy a Harley and can’t decide between a softail standard and a Fatboy. 

    What are the plus’s and minuses of both when it comes to handling and performance.

    Softail standard is a lot more nimble and a lighter bike than the fatty,  Fatty is comfortable and has boards for all those who have crook knees.  Had both, loved riding the Softail Custom and was the preferred bike but the Heritage is and will always be the run bike.

    I was in the same predicament as you and wanted the STD however after riding the Fatty preferred that, it just felt more comfortable to me and 'solid' on the road. Would still love to get a std however....

    I am looking at 2014 103 cube Fatboy or 2009-12 softail standard

    Good you mentioned that. The latest softail standard is nothing like the twin cam ones.
    I've got a 2008 FXST and am still happy with it. The main thing I did not like about it at first is the miss-match of a 200mm wide back tyre and a 90mm front one (most people don't seem to mind it though).
