Above is the road version of the Hunwick Hallam, all Aussie made.
Hunwick is Rod Hunwick who owns Action Suzuki/Motors, Hallem is Paul Hallam engineer.
    Race version below
Another contender for ugly but remember these things are around 20 years old now.

Sadly Paul Hallam is no longer with us , only met him the once down at Wollongong Harley Days , what a Amazing nice guy who was extremely talented … but does anyone remember the back story to the split between himself and Rod Hunwick … and was whatever happened the reason the bike never went any further or was it just down to Finances .

Paul Hallam came from good a pedigree, his dad worked with Brabham and Repco back in he day so I guess he was destined for engineering greatness.
Neil Btitten was another and there is a great doco on him and how he built he bike in his shed including pouring his own engine cases etc, worth a look.
Some thought the bike was ugly but many thought it was awsome including me.
First bike to have ground effects if I remember right?
    Fuck did it go.

i work with a bloke who lived up the road from him...said hes a very clever bloke, as his bike is a testament to the skills he had. i suppose when a goal is set in competion, looks dont really count ,unlike sale to customers off the street.

wife and i were standing admiring bikes in the show and shine at '18 brighter days ,when paul hallam wondered along assessing and judging the bikes in the line and we stood and listened to him as he spoke to the camera crew filming him and the passion and love of bikes as very evident as he described, in detail, what he was taking in.he spoke as a very humble bloke as well.

Britten sure was a smart guy, sad thing is he died a while back now from the big C.
His bike nearly one Daytona on his first attempt but a broken wire connector worth 12 cents ended his race.

Mate of mine paid big bucks for a Bimota DB1 and thought it was the best, never had the heart to tell him I thought it looked like a rice bubble.
Another fella I worked with a long time ago had an old Cossack with sidecar, we used to call him Cnl Klink, he thought my 1100 Katana looked like an accident.
    Each to their own.

this bike not ugly, unless you are not impressed by engineering.
I spent a day just looking at it in the pits at Eastern Creek, they done a few hot laps on it flew & the story on it's design & construction was Awesome!

slowen down , sorry I just posted before reading all the posts, but in truth, I don't think I look at bikes to see if they are ugly or pretty, I look at them because I just love bikes & riding them.

Take a reasonably ugly 2-stroke and make it uglier:

    Would own that no issues

as my first service manager said of his leyland p76....."you cant see the barge arse when your driving".sometimes function takes over from form,i would probabaly sit that in the shed [ between rides].theres a lot going on at the right right rear area.
