Hi All … does anyone have a set of the Arlen Ness 14 inch Big Brake Kits fitted to their bikes … thinking of adding some extra stopping power to my 17 RG Special … but they are not cheap … seeing as I have the Twin Disc setup on my ride.

Mostly I am curious about extra stopping performance percentage wise .. are they a 10% improvement or 50% .. for the cost would I be wrong in thinking anything less than say 25% would not be worth it .

Fitment issue as well , I am running the 19 inch Harley Turbine front wheel .. are stock disc 11.5 or there about`s  .. by going to the 14 inch would there be a issue with the Calliper being to close to the rim .

Better upgrade would be radial mounted brembo's and Galfer discs. Check out Big Steve's for sale posts!

I put one on a couple of years ago, do a search on here for Ness big brake kit, its better than stock, noticed a difference straight away, noticed even more difference after putting a set of Lyndall brake pads in the caliper.

    Hi Benno,
Is there any drawback for using the Lyndall brake pads?

Not that I have seen yet, some say they are hard on your rotors, I have noticed any change in wear, the rotor is still like new and I think I have put about 25k on it now.

I'd definitely be looking at cheaper parts first - pads and brake lines for starters.  I had a 6 pot PM caliper on my Deluxe some time ago - awesome!

Good point, I did put braided line on at the same time as doing the pads
