Hi All,  first post so hopefully this will be seen...
First time Harley owner, in fact first time owner of anything not Japanese!  Loving the little 883 and don't regret not buying the 1200 (yet), but it's definitely a little too tame in the noise department... can practically sneak up on people.

I'm sure there are a thousand questions about slip-on's, but this one is intended for the current climate (as in COVID-19 and a lack of available parts).

I want to get some slip-ons for a 2018 883, there are plenty of options in chrome but not a lot in black.  I've had a good poke around the net and can't find anywhere that stocks Rush slip-on's in particular in Australia.  Has anybody been able to buy Rush mufflers in Aus, or have you had to import them?

How successful is buying from the states for mufflers?  Although I would much rather buy from an Aussie business, I don't want to pay massive overs for trying to support an Aussie company.

    Any guidance highly appreciated.

    Cheers.

    What about Screaming Beagle Slipons?

I’d go screaming beagle if they were cheap, but I haven’t heard Good things about them... admittedly, the things I’ve heard could be wrong too though.

The old screamin eagle ones were good performers without being too loud. The new ones are made to be quiet and don’t work as well. Best performing ones for street use are a tapered turbo variety like those made by khromewerks. S&s also used to sell the same ones but not anymore.  Not cheap or easy to come by.  I’ve got An s&s pair for a dyna and a khromewerks pair for an evo but nothing for a sporty sorry

Cheers mate, great information. I definitely don't want something too loud, but it's got to have a little bit of a voice, it sounds like a vespa at the moment.  I'll have a look at the Khomewerks ones, they might be easier to come by, just wish I could get something Australian made.

Only thing they have in stock seems to be the V&H slip ons... Everything else on back-order...  V-Twin only have the neighbour haters.  Can't find Rush anywhere.  Seems to be a shortage in Australia for slip-ons.

Let me be the dissenting voice AD. Don't spend any money on tricking up the exhaust. Use the bike as the great little runaround that it's designed to be. Get used to riding it and not being an ass. When you get your big bike, do that one up, or not.

I bought the 883 as I commute a lot - I rode the 1200's a fair bit and they were just a tad bigger than the 883 and therefore a tad harder to slip through the traffic the way I am used to... I'll be holding onto this one for a while I'd say.

Kind of wanted the long shots as you don't see them often if at all.... every second bike has short shots.  Just want to give the bike a voice so I don't sneak up on people as much as I have been, but don't want to piss off the neighbours too much.

i thought the 1200 & 883 were the same physical size and it is just the bore size bigger on the 1200's that's different?

All of the 1200's I rode were definitely bigger - beautiful to ride, but bigger than I needed.

Sorry mate but the 883 and 1200 use the exact same sportster frame. The only main differences in them are the cylinder bore and gearing which of course you can’t tell from looking or sitting on it.
Different variants of sportsters have other different parts like wheels, mid/forward controls and handlebars. Handlebars are one of the things that can be changed over to ease commuting and lane splitting thru traffic
