Let's talk about the living for just a minute here. The latest news is that Chris Rea and his band are teaming up with Dire Straits to do a few shows as a "super group".
They are going to be called Dire-Rea.
    Boom Boom.

bloodog, don't write him off too soon. Unless he's gone chasing after Renee since yesterday, he's still alive.
I love the name of one of his more recent bands...The Suave Fucks.
There ya go FC, we're talking about the living.

Well the band will have wonderful high harmony.
Don't think I want to go see them anytime soon though.
He loved his Harley's, his 1988 biography Long Time Gone credit's his FXR with helping him through his crack addiction.

Good to see that the band hasn't grown bigger today. I never really liked the big band sound.

The biog also has a pic of his Shovel, but mentions that he was off to score when the pic was taken.
Is that one of the big differences between Shovels and Evos, Shovels drive you to drugs, Evos help you recover?

And owning a Harley ensures you stay on drugs to ease the pain of buying the parts!

Well that's a good enough reason to get some mates over, sit round a fire in the back paddock and get shitfaced and bellow out Sweet home Obi Obi, where the skies are so blue...

Ha Ha pretty close but no cigar. I was very lucky to get some tickets to the Eagles where we where elevated and less than 10m away, they played Hotel California during their set and it was hard to compute how iconic that song is. Sweet home Alabama is anoughther song in the same mould.

Now normally I like my live music is a smaller venue, up close and personal, but there is a real hit in hearing songs that have become part of the world's cultural identity at a certain time being performed by the original artists. For a couple of years in the late 80 I was getting free tickets to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Well they weren't free, but I didn't know then the price that was being paid for them. So Pink Floyd, Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, U2, Neil Young Stray Dogs tour and more. I would ride down from Obi on the Katana I was riding then, pick up my then wife from work and cut through the heavy traffic and generally massive traffic jam to the venue. Katanas are superb for slicing through traffic.
So yeah, got to hear Pink Floyd lead into Wish you were here, and Neil Young into Cinnamon Girl, and see the inflated pig with huge testicles soar over the crowd. Mind blowing stuff.
And then the ride out, head still ringing and brain still spinning with various chemicals, into the chaos of a massive concert crowd trying to get home. Lane splitting, jumping over median strip's and running up the wrong side of the road at max acceleration, ignoring directions to stop, 2 wheel anarchy at its most enjoyable. Great memories, enough to give you a smile on your deathbed.
