Softail slim forks

    Howdy folks, I recently picked up a 21 slim, been digging around about the cowbells on the forks, I was thinking of taking them off.

    Now from what I’ve read the lower shroud protects the fork seals, apparently these covered forks only run dust covers.

    Could I take the covers off and run the accordion fork boots?

    (Love the 60s club look of a wideglide with booties)

    Gator's work, but you could run them naked, they have a dust seal above the oil seal.
