Correct, gentlemen, SA. I was struck by the number of old places along the road in such a desolate area, and how tough the old boys (and girls) had to be to come and live and work here.
Here's another, a few more minutes down the road:

Ha!. Gotta agree, saw lots of old ruins like that on trips to the Flinders Ranges. Awesome scenery but what a place to eke out an existence for the early settlers there.

Ahh.. the Flinders Ranges, my old man was a jackaroo at Wooltana station, 'fore heading off to fight the Japs, age 16. Took me there in my teens every Sept, camping, shooting. Fuck yeah, they did it tough in the earlier days. Always think if I ever really 'have had enough', that's where I'd go.

How about this one? Old house in Esk. It only partly meets the thread description, it's sure rusty, but still looks like it's in use. It's on the grounds of the sawmill.

Itโ€™s meant to be stable and warm till next week , but who knows haha
I live in the Macedon Ranges so the weather can be a little wacky some days , 10 Kay away itโ€™s fine and clear , at home here , rainy foggy , cold.
But getting out and about if good on any day .
And the bakery at Kyneton has won Gold again for its pies and cakes - they do a vanilla slice that is worth the  โ€˜ stuff a couple in the bag for later โ€˜

Birriwa is a little hamlet in the boondocks of mid western NSW.
Maybe 5 or 6 houses, shanties etc.
However it has TWO churches, that have seen better days and done better things.
They are only about 40 meters apart.
Fuck knows why?, maybe the place had a religious fad for a few weeks a century ago and everyone woke up to themselves instantly.
    Pics from recent Shovel adventure.

Mate, they probably had 50 years of religious fervour  and the congregations feuding between themselves. Finally the last Anglican offed the last Catholic, and left town a month later because life was so boring now.
    Or maybe that was boffed.....
