Well that's put a damper on the whole New Bike owner ship .
Pauly ... I know what you mean about the Bars ... Still haven't made up my mind myself .

China ... I knew you had that 1 issue with Oil transfer but must admit I wasn't aware the Sumping issue was so bad ... Does anyone know if the problem has happened here in Australia yet ... Does the updated Oil pump fix the problem .

I'm sort of glad now I decided to be a cheap bastard and go for the 'economy' stage 2 torque cam on top of my stage 1 and not stage 3 like I was considering.

    hey all ,

I have had my Road King Special now for 6 weeks ( 3200 kms ) coming from a very hot Breakout this is a totally different beast ( yeap captain obvious )

I have 2 questions I hope to get answered .

    1. has anyone notice one pipe running richer than the other ( darker )

    2. I'm finding it really hard to get the rear to sit hard on the deck at high speed corning ( breakout seems to be better !!!! )

has anyone found the right setting for one up riding ?

    cheers .

Small bit of piece of mind ... Checked with Dealer and they assured me that I have the updated Oil pump as per the Service Bulletin recommendations ... Asked about the under cylinder spray jet issue and they said they hadn't got any feedback from USA Harley ... Hopefully that issue dosent turn into a nightmare .
Was reading the link China posted ... Haven't got all the way through it yet ... Bloody long ... Anyhow there is a guy over in States who had the Sumping issue ... Got all new parts with updated parts and still had the Sumping issue... So not real reassuring ... Haven't got to the end of that particular thread so hopefully better news .

Also haven't heard of any issues in Australia as yet ... Fingers crossed it might be a smaller issue than first thought ... Although for USA Harley to release a Service Bulletin one must be a little concerned .

Thanks China ... Yeah Heatwave was the name of the guy who's post I was reading ... Was hoping he was going to relay some good news by the end of his post ... Doesn't sound like any good news coming .
I shall continue to regularly check both gear box and engine oil levels and report back if any bad news .

One thing I am hoping will be in mine and other M8 owners favour is the fact that some Dealer ship's  are using these motors for race bike projects ... Both Drag and circuit racing ... So if it happens to them they might take some of these issues a bit more seriously... Hopefully .

Well I had the pleasure of getting a loaner from Frasers today, Milwaukee 8 ultra so I thought it's a tourer so let's tour ?? Did 500 k's and I'm impressed, might have to see if a deal can be done on a cvo because if the stock one goes so well the 117 must be way better.

James J ... How many K's do you have on your Stage 4 so far ... And what about the oil transfer from Gear box to primary , all good there .
Don't want there to be but anyone heard of any issues of Sumping here in Australia yet .

Are Australian delivered bikes assembled in same place as USA bikes .

Clutching at straws I know but can't blame a guy for hoping we maybe might get lucky and miss the issue here ... Although China has had the oil transfer issue here .

Just an inquiry about these new bikes with Fly by Wire Throttle's ... Are they prone to being a little sensitive .
When I got the beast they had replaced the standard grips with a set of Defiance grips .. Nice feel but had a bit of a notchy feel or slightly sticking feel ... You hit a bump and even with a light touch it would jump up in the rev's if that makes sense ... Same off idle at the lights ... Nothing to radical but annoying .

Had the Dealer have a look and they gave it a bit of a clean up and bit of a lube and near perfect off idle and a bit better riding along now but still has an annoying stiffness at times .

Has the Burleigh 14" High Balls on at the moment and not sure if my big old fat heavy arms are the only issue ... Hence the inquiry .

Gidday JR ... Yeah it's not a huge deal and I reckon it will become simple over time ... Was just I hadn't experienced same issue with cable Throttle's on any of my other Harleys or Jap bikes through the years .

Gidday Dan ... Thanks for info , I have the 2017 Road Glide Special and so far so good .
Just can't blow the pic up big enough to read clearly but is that a Harley Davidson Service Bulletin similar to the one they officially sent out world wide about the Oil Pump issues or is it just off a USA Harley Forum site .

Like you say if it is official then that's good news .

Couple of changes to the new baby ... Swapped out the 14 inch Burleigh High Balls for a set of 9 inch Harley Chiseled bars ... So much better for me ... Very similar shape and feel but 5 inches lower ... Just about inline with the top of Fairing so gives it stream line look .

You might notice ground wet ... 10 minutes from home and got drenched ... Need the water up here as only have Tank water where we are but could have held off a bit longer , Lol ... Good excuse for a few Bundy's and a bit of polishing .
Had a win with my sticking / binding throttle ... I knew it wasn't just me ... The TPS , throttle position sensor had a notch in it and was grabbing ... Swapped out and unbelievably so much better .

Steelo ... Thanks for comments , yeah they feel so much better ... You would be surprised at how quite the pipes are at cruising speed ... Definitely a bit throaty down low and of course when cracking her open .
JR ... Did a deal with Dealer , they covered all the cost , parts and labour and they got the Burleigh Bars ... He loves them ... 8 hours to change a set of bars , glad I didn't have to pay for the labour on that one .

Have already checked out a couple of the Chinese knock offs and also looking at some of the smooth and clean rear guard's like on the CVOs and Paul Yaffee's .
Just want to get some decent rides in and enjoy the whole experience a bit more ... My other 2 , the 99 and 08 I seemed to spend just as much time changing things and spending money as I did riding .

But definitely see some bigger Bags in the future .
