G'day hello slaves to the machine I'm converting my sporty into a 1250 .at the moment it has Vance and Hines pipes that are loud as hell and sound like absolute s*** what I'd like to know is there such a thing as a quieter Performance Exhaust with more Rumble and Less tinny rattle. Any points in that direction would be greatly appreciated.
So I will not be subject to the neighbours
storming my abode with Pitchforks, flaming  torches and BAD attitudes.

Check out Harley Screaming Beagle pipes as well... They look good and actually sound bloody nice - none of the over the top V&H noise.

look at the Patriot Defender 2-1 Exhaust . Not sure if they're still available but definitely one of the best sounding pipes around and they're top performers on the 1250 (especially the Hammer) .
I have the Patriot's on my Sporty and happy to share pics with you if you like (PM me)

SEs were always too quiet for me when I had my Sportie.  I had a pair of S&S slipons though and I loved the sound.

As above, Screaming Eagle have a great sound but to quiet, S&S turbo's are a good compromise. Neither quiet nor too noisy and a nice deep sound to them. Don't think you'd offend too many with them.

I popped a set of supertrapp's on my 48 and I'm really impressed by them.  To tune mine correctly, I've had to add more disks thats I wanted to originally, which made the bike a little louder, but its still reasonably quiet.  If you're anywhere around the Sydney area, you're more than welcome to have a listen.

I got a V&H fuelpak, supertrapps and an S&S stealth air cleaner, and this bike is considerably quicker than it was stock. (as to be expected, I know).

These pipes are pretty quiet at idle and at low revs, but they can really bark when you twist the throttle.

I'll second the Supertrapp system :)

I Screaming Eagle Nightstick is a rebadged Supertrapp.

The Supertrapps' have an open end-cone option as well as the closed cap, you use less discs (10 or 12 if I remember correctly) and it is louder than the closed cap, and some people say it will pull harder faster, I have a closed cap and I think 20 discs in my 103.

    Good Luck

I bought a set of s&s slip ons, 50 state legal. I though all would be good. They sound horrid until you hit 80 k/ph in fourth, nice at 110 but shit at low revs.... Too loud. JMHO.

I just bought Rush slip-ons with 1.75" baffle. I like the sound, it's quite deep and not too loud. They perform quite well too according to the Hammer Perf website.

I understand your frustration ... recently my elderly neighbor had passed away and now her evil cunting children moved in took over the house and probably cleaned her bank account out too ... they are some nasty creature always give off  bad vibes when we ride our bikes ... i am sure they will complain to the cops and the council over the loudness of our bikes someday.
I caught the fat dog cunt throwing garbage over my fence the first day he moved in trying to make an impression ... my wife just ordered some quiet baffles and super quiet baffles for our V&H Short Shots ... just to keep the peace ...

Our bikes are now extremely loud we've modded our bikes with stage 5 Tire Shredder Engine Upgrade ... so the Vance and Hines Super Quiet baffles are a must for now ...

If these baffles are still loud then I'm going to drill 2 holes near the end of each pipes and make a turnable butterfly valves so we could close the pipes when starting the bikes and then once we are far from home we could just open the butterfly valves to let the noises out - at least this way our bike noises wont disturb the neighbors.

well folks i got the super quiet baffles and it sounded like a Kawasucki Yamayucki cheap harley imitation ... my bike kept dying on me at stop lights ... maybe it now needs a re-tune ...and also lost a lot of torque too.

I don't want to come across as obnoxious but Fuck them! consideration and respect is a two way street, if they're being arseholes and deliberately marking their territory the last thing i would be doing is spending my cash and changing what makes me happy on MY property to keep the peace!

If they call the council i doubt they have the authority to do anything, if they call the police they have to actually catch you on the road to book you, likely way too busy for such trivial pursuits.
Fuck em, live your life how you want to, if they don't like it they can sell up and move!

My fighting days are over I am an old cunt now i just wanna drink my booze in peace :(

May have been better to just greet the neighbors at the door with a shotgun and the complaints would have tapered of fairly quickly.

Should have seen the prick last friday when i had to go out for a ride ... he doesn't even look at me and his wife was watering the garden giving me the fuck you ass wipe faces look ... wish i had bikie friends I'd invite them over for a beer and it would solve all my problems lol.
He pretended he was taking photos of his car but as i rode off he had his camera pointing at me ... he must be planning something !

Anyway we installed Super Quiet Baffles from Vance and Hines ... perhaps problem solved but my bike sounds like Kawasucki Milwaukee 8 :(

The New World Order is turning men into girls and our Harleys into a Kawasucki.

I rode a kwaka cruiser before I had the cash to buy the harley, put some v&h pipes on and it was not quiet. Few people on the forum from that way so why not throw a forum barbie one weekend.

You never know you might even wind up with some bikie friends. Make sure you ask them to do the south park bikie bit, rev the bikes all the way up the street, stop and piss on any other bike in street and burn out comp in the driveway (pref neighbors ) that should endear them to you or keep them away.

Patriot Defender two onto one  its loud and deep when the baffle is open and just over OEM when closed And they make a lot of pawer with no loss in the  low or mild range.

Hey guys stay away from Vance and Hines Super Quiet Baffles - my bike almost got destroyed by the heat it trapped inside my pipes - my bike kept dying on me because it got so freaking hot and almost destroyed my spark plugs :(
