Just wondering what are people running on there dynas ,I'm up for new tyres , done 10000 klm on the originals  and both front and rear need replacing , 10 grand is probably not to bad , i'm not opposed to the original dunlops but have people got better mileage and handling out of others , for sake of handling in the wet and dry , i don't care if i get a bit less mileage  , but would be nice to get better mileage and handling ,, suggestions please

Pirelli Night Dragon, Metzeler ME888, Dunlop American Elite, Michelin Power Commander and Avon Cobra seem to be the tyres of choice, I have run both the Metzeler and the Pirelli both were better than the original tyres, I am using the Night Dragons now because they were the best deal at the time (cheapest), do a search there is plenty of info on this site on tyres

Replaced a front tyre on my fatboy with an Avon Cobra and made the front end behave a lot better.  Will put one on the rear soon which is due for a new one.  Very happy with them.  Cant comment re wear yet.

I used to run Metzeler ME888s on my Dyna (05 FXDLi) and loved them. Great in the summer heat and kept good traction in the rain (important, as I was in Seattle!) and lasted pretty well though took a little longer to break in than the Dunlops so take it easy for the first 150ks

Does'nt seem to be much difference in price from one make to another , 50 bucks from lowest to highest , not worth haggling about , dunlops being the highest , and i don't want them anyway ,,,  the cheapest is from a harley dealer but  in honesty i don't want to use them , they done the last 2 services and both times  i then had to take it elswhere to get the belt adjusted , after they gave it back too tight or too slack  , so there out ,

Leaves me with   a choice of bridgestone cruisers , or michelin commander2 ,price about the same ,, never used any of them , so thoughts  from people who have

Cobras on a 13 wide glide were great

Avon Cobras on Fatbob. Great tyre, nice and sticky, good for about 10-11000kms.

    +1.
I’m happy with Cobras on my FXDF. Would add they are sensitive to correct pressure, but I like them wet or dry. Plenty of blokes swear by Night Dragons too.

Pirelli night dragons for me great in wet and dry. I get 10,000 out of em and they get a caininhg. Always keep the rear pressure above 40 psi though or they will wear flat.

As the fellas have said Avon cobras are good too. I have experimented and they the only two I run.

Recently put Avon Cobra's on both front and rear of the wide glide, feel much more confident in the corners than compared to the dunlops that I was running.

If anyone wants a near new rear 160/17 Night Dragon cheap ($100 + post) , let me know.
Removed it after around 500kms due to no traction.
Came from EasyR , but i'm guessing it was old stock .

It would be fine for a lot of guys with stock power that don't ride hard  ..........
Really no worse than a Metzeler 880.
At least I was being honest !    :-)

Got the night dragon on the front of my FatBob,  and I think it is a huge improvement on the standard tractor tyre. Still have a 1/2 life oem style Dunlop on the rear, tossing up my options there, either a matching night dragon or maybe  the bridgestone battle cruise.

Ken, go the Night Dragon and make the set. Plenty of blokes swear by them, particularly on Dynas.

Yeah probably will end up going that way. Was considering the Bridgestone for potential longer life span due to the duel compound, but havn't seen any real life feedback on them.

Ken, your conditions are unique, I have seen a few guys hit the mould covered painted lines on the ranges up there and come to grief cause they were stingy buying tyres.
New tins and paint cost a lot more than good rubber.
