    I'm thinking wiring issue?

Quoting Grease Monkey on 09 Jun 2019 01:48 AM

Something is killing the reg, bad earth can do it, but if your getting 16+ volts it's gone again.

Thanks they'll be getting it back tomorrow.

Well sounds like it'll be a regulator and battery this time to be for certain?

Maybe this might be part of the problem. I'm in agreement in regards to the grounding theory. So maybe it needs to be bare metal where the wires connect to the frame?

Note there are actually two wires crimped in the ring terminal here instead of one as used by the GL500. By now you know the drill - ensure there is a solid bare metal connection to the frame, and that the bolt is torqued to spec so it will not vibrate loose.

Thanks for all the advice fellas. I've had the regulator and battery replaced, and the bike runs like new.
I've been putting it through it's paces and done 1000km over the last couple of days. Tomorrow will be the test as it's going to be -1°c.

Did they diagnose the reason the first regulator they installed had failed?
I'm glad you're up & running & don't wish it upon you, but when are you going in to get your 3rd regulator installed?

This is the third mate. They didn't give a reason for the first one shitting itself. I suspect it was the battery. This bike runs like it never has before.
