Test rode one today and I am very impressed. I would nearly have to say the best Harley I have ever ridden and I have ridden and owned many. I could be so tempted to buy one and this bike seems to fit me perfectly. But for every silver lined cloud there is a downside and for me I would have to go back into debt to get one and at nearly 60 years old the idea doesn't thrill me to much. Anyway back to the Sport Glide if you get a chance to ride one I say go for it you won't be disappointed.

Yep I am not looking for a full on touring bike but I like the idea of having bags on a bike to pack gear for a few days away. Still thinking hard about this bike it is that good but as I said I am nearly 60 years old and by the time I paid it off I would be 65. At this time I am debt free and own my Heritage Softail so a lot of soul searching  to do.

Actually Choco, youve got a sweet looking ride.  Why youd go into debt for 5 years to go from heritage to Sport glide seems a bit crazy!!!

If it's only the handling that is giving you a wandering eye you can do a lot to your ride that will improve the suspension out of sight, people will huff huff but the way my 16 slim is set up it is as good or better for my taste than any of the new ones except perhaps the sportglide, it's spendy to get there but nowhere near a new bike price.
A couple of mates have ridden mine and can't believe it's a softail, they question my sanity for even considering another bike, as do I.

Thanks Timmy for your kind words about my bike. To be honest now I slept on it going into debt for 5 years would be crazy, like I said I would be 65 years old by the time I paid it off. The Sport Glide is fantastic ride, the power, handling, brakes, smoothness, all this compared to my Evo Softail got me in. Don't get me wrong I love my Heritage Softail there is nothing wrong with it and it's a great bike.  I just fell into I need another bike feeling after the test ride but after a good night's sleep the Heritage will be staying with me and I will be staying debt free.

this topic keeps coming up just when I think I decided not to , then I start to think about it again LOL I have seen 2018 Demo Models for 25k at some of the stealers with minimal K`s.is there much change improvements on 2019 models ? I am also out of Debt  & 61  no way want that" Noose" again I would think trade would be insulting on my 12 Roadking & seems market is shit at the moment , change over price of around $5k Max ! I could handle,  but then I am not a fan of the wheels & then the exhaust. I have seen The Bassini R/R on a couple, like the look but been told they scrape ,how Bad ,how you ride plays a big part ,is their other options ? have not seen others,I seen a 2019 Orange with denim black stripes advertised man thats just beautiful ...pic for attention only

The bass ani does scrape and u have to be very cautious of right handers .. even more so when two up .. there was another option I didn’t know about when I first bought it ( I’ll find out that one ) .. and now just recently I saw another with vance and Hines twins on it , will also find out what exactly they are also.. as for the changes ! .. mine is a 2019 and I don’t think there are any on that I know of ??

Gidgi. I think you're a bit pessimistic about your current bikes' value. I traded a 2011 FLHRC with 35,000km on a brand new 2018 FLHX in February. $15K changeover! FLHX had Boom upgrade and premium shock upgrade installed. On RRP I was given $24K for the Road King, the figures are BS anyway but the change-over was too good to resist.
M8 makes 100HP/120TQ and despite the BS you hear, they are awesome to ride.

100hp and 120tq with cam and tune you mean, no way is the 107 that stock and thats what's in the SportGlide aye.
What bullshit are you hearing Nutty? Do you mean that some people that say they feel too smooth and have no soul? If that's what you mean then yeah I'd agree that's crap. My son in laws cammed M8 107 lowrider is all Harley in sound and attitude.

    Choco,
I can see how you are stuck on the finances issue! When you were a young buck you worked hard and saved for the big purchases, this day and age it's a credit society! I consider myself being in the middle of those era's, I was brought up to be conservative, only buy what you can pay for and work hard for what you want. Then you see people with the new house, his and her Holden SS's in the driveway and they own f%#k all of it. I had a lifestyle change and rewarded myself with a Harley for my years of toil, I have not looked back at all, best decision ever! Jump in and enjoy it if you liked the test ride so much. Tax return time is just around the corner! lol

Agree with you Nutty, saw Gidgi's number crunch, as they would say at the Castle 'he dreamin', if correct a no brainer do the deal, tough on second hand bikes in the market place, whether dealer or private.
