Had a white Moto Guzzi, the first thing I did was to get her painted black, with red and silver metallic fleck, was very smart looking after colour change.
Not a colour racist, my truck, my wife's car, my Harley are black.

This is a stock photo from the time back in 2006. Very few of these came to Australia ( I was told 5 at the time )

2006 35th Anniversary Superglide. First of the 6 speed , unique paint and tank badges , numbered edition.

I picked my brand newie up from Frasers and babied it until 2010. It was a "valuable" thing. I had no phone camera then.

Then a 75 year old Priest ( from the Sydney diocese with an AUTO licence ) bashes into me in a borrowed MANUAL Nissan Pulsar

In the middle of the Perth arvo rush hour on a 70Km/H dual carriageway. Bike was "munted and cunted" to coin a phrase.

Classic failure to yield scenario , "Sorry I didn't see you.." Me replied "no shit ?" He somersaults my bike into the median strip.

I'm off to Joondalup hospital in a cop Commodore ( no ambulances ) , my first "nice" experience in a cop car ( no joke !)

I end up repairing the bike personally at my home garage , took over 3 months to locate all the NOS parts , mostly in the US.

US dealers could and would post you parts back then , got NOS fenders in the colour , NOS tank badges etc etc

Picked up stock new bike take-off bars , indicators footpegs etc etc ( some from this forum !)

Once repaired , it came up 100% , but I never felt "right" about the bike and sold it. Kinda strange that looking back.

The "old Priest" ? He could not be traced in Sydney , but the insurance on the Pulsar paid my repair costs with me the "nominated repairer"

State Govnmt paid my medicals etc etc thankfully as back then you had to "nominate who was at fault". 100% NOT ME !

they are a nice looking bike [ imo] i nearly bought one before i found my current bike [ in the same shop] the bike was fitted with short shots and silver braided cables and i didnt like the look of it as it stood and tube tyres werent on my list .when i bought my first bike the mechanics bike at the dealer was a '74 fx and i believe the 35 I was modelled on them and they certainly look very similar.i bought my lowrider from peter stevens in geelong, and is a grey import so i'll guess the 35I was probably one as well, i didnt look it that far.after looking around the mechanics bike may have been a '71 fx. he was the son of the dealer,Coles motors in colac.

Yes more of these 35th Anniversary Dynas came after 2011 as used "grey imports" than were ever brought new in to Australia by the various private importers at the time in 2006.

Probably impacted a wee bit on the desirability of the specific model.

AND a fair % of them were well scruffy , I had a real good look at a few and worked on them too. The US bikes had O2 sensors , (like all Aussie big twins from 2007 and up), but the "Australian" supplied 2006 Anniversary bikes were all Delphi EFI , but no O2 sensors , just bungs in the header pipes.

No carby option on this bike , never was in any market
